I've seen FT-IR spectra of Iron oxide nanoparticles and in many of them peaks at 2854 and 2926 which corresponds to C-H stretching is coming, they haven't coated iron oxide with anything. Can anyone tell me the reason for this? I find FT-IR spectra of Iron oxide very complicated, it should show peaks corresponding to Fe-O bond and water molecules, no other peaks should come but this is not the case, many other peaks appear in the spectra and there is not much plausible explanation given for it in literature.
