Hello, just a quick question, why do we use tests in the tribological laboratories of bovine serum, diiodomethane ... to check the wettability of dlc ?
Diiodomethane is typically used to determine the surface energy of materials and coatings. It is used because it is a non-polar liquid - for the calculation of surface energy (and its polar and dispersive components) you need at least two liquids, a polar one (typically water) and a non-polar one (typically diiodomethane).
