Why do we prefer proactive protocol than reactive protocol in IoT?

why do we prefer proactive protocol than reactive protocol in IoT?

IoT can mean a lot of things. The short answer I would give is that for devices that must rely on battery power for extended periods of time, reactive protocols would be more power-efficient. Best to stay in sleep mode as much as possible.
