Today I have come across the problem like when Im using API of two different manufacture,suppose API-A of "X "company & API-A of "Y" company by using same manufacturing method. API-A of "X "company gives me good tablet & passes all parameters & if I use API-A of "Y" company then it gives capping & sticking problem.
Why does this happen? How do I overcome this problem?

The problem of capping is mainly depends upon the method of preparation and the excipients used in the study. I think you used same excipients for both the batches. In your case the capping occured because of method of preparation. If you overmix the blend at the lubrication stage, capping may occurs. If you compress the tablet in higher hardness may also lead to capping. Magnesium stearate concentration, mixing of the blend and compression at higher hardness are the factors for capping occurance. If you are sure that all above parameters are constant for both the formulations, then you think on the particle size of the API.
