I have seen some researchers using constant bias while some researchers using step voltage before the light pulse in doing Time of Flight charge carrier mobility measurement.
In a practical detection scenario, it is impossible to use step voltage before a particle hits the detector because the detector does not know whether a particle is approaching or not. Why do we need step voltage in the experimental phase?
