For poultry species, the waste from digestion (faecal sample) and waste from metabolism (uric acid) are egested together. Bearing in mind the fact that uric acid is a waste product of metabolism that is not retained and is not usually separated when faecal samples are collected, it will be inappropriate to say the calculation therein represent digestibility alone after all digestibility starts and end in the gastrointestinal tract. The uric acid is actually from the kidney.
