There are huge number of lung cancer cells are available . Yet most of the researcher test the anti cancer activity in A 549 lung cancer cells. Apart from the easy availability, is there any specific reason behind this?

Usually People select a cell line on the basis of the requirement.
Eg. If its origin is a Primary Tumor / metastatic Tumor, adherent / mixed/ Suspension culture, whether it belongs to a specific HLA type, etc
Many People might go for this cell line because it is adherent and may be more suitable for transfection purposes. People might simply want to go for such validated cell lines.
