I have done radiometric callibration and Top of the atmosphere analysis on some landsat images as described by Chander et al 2009 and need to do tasseled cap transformation with these processed image bands. Before i do the tasseled cap i need to layer stack the individual bands. But any time i layer stack (in Erdas imagine 2014) to 8bit unsiged, ignore zeros; i get a black sheet as an output. Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong. (Chander, Gyanesh; Markham, L. Brian and Helder, L. Dennis, 2009)
1.Insure the vector layer , aoi and image projection should be in the same projection.
2. Try to give output as float then see the result.
Try using ERDAS modeler... I used this method, it worked perfectly.
Or try switching to some other software for checking...
I think better you try in envi for layer stack, some time this type of problem happens in erdas when image is completely black or white.
Thanks for all the responses. i have found the source of the error, it was because i was forcing a 32bit image to layer stack into an 8bit unsigned image. So i used float (as Firoz also suggested) and the problem was solved. Thanks again.
Atiqa and all others contributors, i got around to the many exceptions thrown by erdas imagine by switching to arcmap 10.1 and using the image analysis. I have successfully layer stacked and done the tasseled cap analysis too.
