I had a Trichoderma harzianum green (figure 1) but now is yellow or green in a few parts (Figure 2). I checked the media (is the same PDA), and is a strain reactivated of glycerol. Currently, I'm checking the temperature in the incubator. Do you know if could be something else? Thank you!
As the culture of Trichoderma harzianum ages, it produces yellowish secondary metabolites. This characteristic is common with Trichoderma spp.

Trichoderma harzianum has a green colony when it young. But when it be old, it produces a secondary metabolites, so, these metabolites are yellow. Therefore the colony appears yellow.
Also, you must make sure that the colony is not contaminated with other fungi. Because some other species of Trichoderma such as T. viride or T. atroviride have yellow pigments and yellow colonies or sometimes greenish yellow.
Trichoderma harzianum is considered as a very effective bioagent fungus for controlling plenty of plant pathogenic fungi such as Pythium spp., Fusarium spp. Rhizoctonia spp., Sclerotium sclerotiorum, Macrophomina phaseolina,... etc. Because it has many tools to control the pathogenic fungi such as parasitism, competition, producing antibiotics, secretion enzymes etc.
Thanks for your answers, this is new for our laboratory. We inoculated these cultures in rice and the yellow Trichoderma grew up green again. We don´t know what we did in the Petri dishes, nothing seems different until the moment. Thank you for your time.
