Why capacitance increases after nitrogen doping of carbon based materials ??
When sample is heat-treated in nitrogen containing atmosphere for N-doping, is it seen that capacitance of the materials increases after doping.

The introduction of N to carbon materials may cause the changes in atomic/electronic structures of the target materials. The changes depend upon the target (carbon) materials which can be different for different materials. For graphene, you may have a look on following paper:

As for DLC, nitrogen doping results increase of conductivity, but decrease of durability and internal tension.

The capacitance increases after nitrogen doping of carbon-based material because you increase the dispersion of the catalyst and generate active catalytic center.
