Regarding what context to do a LCA in, in your case agriculture, the database is the important thing to look at. The software is only the shell, but a lot depends on identifying the best database for your purpose.
second Jesko's idea on OpenLCA, beside with OpenLCA you get free access to the AGRIBALYSE datase (https://nexus.openlca.org/database/Agribalyse) which you could use as foundation of your work
In addition, although SimaPro and GaBi are paid, you can apply for 1-year lessons for free. In the first case for No OECD countries and in the second for undergraduate or graduate students. After that period, you can renew the aforementioned licenses just by filling out a couple of forms.
