I've always tried to thank people kind enough to share their texts with me.
I'm now told I cannot message someone who doesn't follow me.
This is outside my control. I can follow them, but they may choose ,
for their own reasons, not to follow me.
This shouldn't stop me from being able to thank them.
Are you following them? In the past I'm managed to message people who weren't following me by following them. That may still work. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've discoverered that some of RG's functions (e.g. sharing) don't work in a consistent manner, sometimes even indicating that someone who obviously is on RG cannot be found. A somewhat clumsy workaround in your situation might be to put your specific thanks into the comments section on one of the person's research items (if any) posted on RG.
Thanks for the suggestion. I wondered though if some people had asked RG not to permit contacts from those they're not following. In which case, I'd want to respect that wish. This is a new problem, so is it a deliberate policy change?
Does anyone know how to contact a real person in charge of RG policy?
