Why are the absorbance peaks of my core-shell nanoparticles not showing?

I am trying to characterize Cu-Ag core-shell nanoparticles with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, but no meaningful absorbance peaks between 400-450 nm are showing in the spectrum. I am sure that the core and shell are not oxidized, checked by XRD patterns only showing peaks from Cu and Ag, EDX mapping also shows the existence of the Ag shell coating. What could be the reasons for this?

Reasons

1. The presence of impurity could hinder the appearance of peaks.

2. If the sample is not compatible with the wavelength requirement of the experiment.
