Why are some well-known scientific journals ( physical chemistry; impact factor above 3) often not referring to sources where the formulas they used were firstly received? Moreover, at times they make gross errors in their writing. Attempts to appeal to the authors of such articles end with complete silence ... or a jokingly unsubscribing of one of the young authors.
Yes, the failure to cite the original derivation of an equation is unfortunate. I agree that it would be good for authors and journal editors to be more careful in this regard. I've probably been guilty of it myself. Did you have a particular instance in mind?
Unfortunatelly papers by Russions authors are not cited as often as they should. We always try our best; please let me know if we did not cite original derivations in any of our papers.

I will focus on the thesis of Dr. Joel Gilmore
Spin-boson models for the interaction of electronic excitations in biological
chromophores with their protein and solvent environment (2006).
It is a very interesting and useful work.
However, the formula (2.15) was first obtained by me in 1987, which is not noted by Dr. Joel Gilmore. It took almost 20 years to come to the same result. Interestingly, Dr. Joel Gilmore knew about this (it is clear from text on the page 41). If the my journal did not make an impression, where this result was firstly published by me, it would be possible for a later work. In addition, he cites my article [108] (Biopolymers 82, 435, 2006; WILEY), where the formula (2.15) can be reduced.
