Luckily our country Nepal can be categorized in lesser impact of COVID-19’s zone in terms of death and suffering as only 14 cases are identified and some of them have already been recovered. No death is noticed. Some are diagnosed positive without COVID-19’s general symptoms. WHO recognized diagnosed- system. Till now, we can claim, we are relatively safe in the earth, but it is harming economy and agriculture production.
What may be the reasons behind it? Many speculations can be heard such as - using of BCG vaccine (Nepal fully support BCG), immunity power, timely lockdown, culture (?), etc? However, millions of Nepali people are abroad. And Nepal’s location is between China and India. Climate is varied from tropical to alpine, now warmer. Agriculture and remittances are the mainstay of the country.
these all depend on testing. now this pandemic is not only health issue but also a political issue. some cases have shown that summer has its effect on virus, but it needs more results.
It's major depend on pro-active measures such lockdown if we take India, India has taken lockdown decision very early and it helps to avoid coming in contact with any positive people in a mass gathering.
Argentina has started with lock down very early. There are few cases and very few deaths. I suppose that those countries that acted pro-actively at an early stage were significantly benefited.
Can genetic structure play a role in the susceptibility to the virus?
I agree with Sunil, Saurav and Tomass, early lockdown may be the appropriate response of the pandemic. India and Argentina have also low cases in proportion to theor total population.
Sri Lanka has curtailed successfully the C19 spread, deaths so far-7, cases-250+, and praised by WHO head for the initiatives taken by the prez.

However, some scenario now suggests that only lockdown may not be effective unless there are huge testing or screeningto contain COVID 19.
A high rate of travel by a population aggravates an epidemic by increasing exposure. A more insular population will be less contaminated by this. But if it ever did get in, then the population is just as vulnerable as any other and the rules of epidemics will govern and the population will have to do all the social distancing practices that are working around the world.
