Hi, I think that what you see in both cases is just numerical noise, not the physical solution. Or better said, it may be related to the physical solution but the variation of the mole fraction is really very small. It is difficult to say why the model converged to practically zero solution, could it be that the amplitude of your wave is just too small?
yes you are right, the change is extremely small by about 10^-9.. so we could not see the change, I tried to change the limit on the y-axis but it did not work.
