This selection process holds true whether you are looking at aquatic, terrestrial or even ice-bound organisms.
It is totally depends on the application of enzymes and marine bacterial enzymes have three more characters like halophilic, psychrophilic and barophilic nature. Three characters in one enzyme is truly an incredible feature which can be applied in many industries also. In future I am going to work on these bacteria isolated from marine sources for production of enzymes... In my opinion working on marine resources are innovative and have immense applications also... Because of difference in the amino acid sequence and hence well adjustment to adverse environment (Stability of protein)
Can you make more specific, what is "superior" means for you.? If you just wondering why so many interested sources of the metabolites, The common and easy answer probably because of Harsh environment usually triggers unique metabolites.
