Actually I read it many times .. I couldn't think of anything nice related to the doctors (Human Doctors) .. in my country they have butcher style more than the artist style..

If you meant the researcher doctors and engineers .. I don't know about that but its so nice ..

   I am disappointing to hear from a researcher like you a bad description for Iraqi doctors "in my country they have butcher style more than the artist style.."

How about the non-educated people: what they are speaking on doctors?!!!!!

   Iraqi doctors were participate in providing a health care for Iraqi people for long time despite the worry circumstances in our country.

   If you remember dear the monthly salary of Iraqi doctors during the embargo is 1 $ and they continue in providing a health care to their people.

Thanks for inviting me to participate in discussion,My point of view  they are becoming doctors & engineers  from professional growth but they are also human being,they have emotions,creativity in art & literature then they have artistic nature.

I think for recreation. By this process they recreate creativity.

Creativity and curiosity are common in research and art. While in research we can share or rational, in art, we can share our emotions.

I agree with Dickson and Robert. I just want to add the fantasy. Also, it seems to me that to do: poetry, music, painting etc. they are all ways to relieve stress, relax, and reload "the batteries" to deal with daily work more vigorously.

How wonderful is  to find an amazing mixture of research and emotion dear Dr.Robert Istvan Radics , really in my Ph.D. project I was facing such a strange mixture, means when you are scientifically dealing with a humanitarian case to get scientific results, amputation manipulation with emotions.

I think that you are accurately describing many academic researchers psychological condition via these amazing three points dear Dr.Han Ping Fung. In previous post, I said that we are as a researchers spending very long time of our life in research, conferences, academic tasks and completely forget to live like other people.

Dear Dr. Emad, After reading the colleagues' answers, I would like to ask the following question:

After all, do you agree that your son is going to study arts instead of medicine or engineering, knowing that your son was one of the outstanding students who got high grades in secondary school ,and he was loving and willing to study arts.

I hope that our answer is far from the romantic and idealistic picture, and we speak from the reality we live in a country of the Third World.

I think the main reason behind all kinds of living problems is money, so since we are talking about the Third World Countries, where almost people are/were facing very critical financial shortage problem(s), hence art and similar college does not offer income after graduation, meanwhile medicine, pharmacy, ... will transfer graduated student directly to his job or medical centers, pharmacy, ...Now in return to our discussion, my answer is No.

By the way in the UAE the situation is completely different.

The potential for aesthetic creation is an essential part of our nature. Realizing our creative potential is essential for our personal and social development.

It's mostly the doctors that are famous for "hobbies" in the creative or reproducing arts. Such occupations are less well-known from engineers.

Due to good reason: engineering can be a highly creative occupation in itself - not needing such a hobby for compensation. Often engineers are creative in another way: simply applying their professional skills on subjects they are personally interested in.
