I am doing a simple problem on debonding of two metallic plates , i want to find reaction forces at the delamination front so using MPC Elements ant nodes but unable to solve in ansys 14 , how ever its gives result in ansys14, it shows error something about local coordinate system not defined! Thanks
sure, MPC stands for multi point constraint elements used to find nodal forces in nodes on crack tips etc,my problem is about two metallic plates are initially bonded together with a debonding at the edge.I am able give MPC elements in cracl tip nodes and solve problem in ansys version 8 but this technique does not work in ansys 14.
If you want to simulate the bond as "breakable", then you need to specify a bonded contact with " pure penalty" or "augmented lagrange" formulation not "MPC" algorithm.
