I am working with TEMPO oxidized nano cellulose films and its composites. So when I am doing the FTIR of the same I am getting multiple inverted peaks. I have checked the machine with other samples and they are getting fine results.
I know you're taking a background - the question is how did you take the background? Was the background air or a sample substrate? As Ibukun OLUWOYE says you may have little or no signal. Inverted peaks are normally a sign of over-background subtraction (i.e. the background higher than the signal). This can arise from the power to the sample being higher than the power when the background was measured.
