at present technology almost all the digital systems will be synchronous systems. all the digital blocks will be clocked simultanuously. Synchronous circuits are the ones in which all the digital sequential blocks are clocked simultaneously with a similar clock input. and synchronous sequential circuits fast with compare to asynchronous sequential circuits.
