when you say that the teacher, mother, father and sibling an the environment are impacting creativity development, it is also important to consider how exactly.

interestingly, children of the same parents are not all creative. so how can the parent impact one, and not the other? (of course, personality plays a role)

so, i think the how is more important than the who.

things that may help: encouraging the child to play, try new things, play in new ways, play with new things, changing the environment, giving the child problems to solve while playing.

and of course praising the child.

Its more what. People support, but the person brings their creativity forward into expression.

Parents and/or guardians early in life, during the first years of life. Later after those first formative years children receive influence/inspiration from many other sources. Children begin school at age 5 or so, and during the school years, peers become an important source of influence as well...

Parents and teachers are only guiding persons.prof. Barnard rightly said parents, teachers influence is differed effect. Role played in nurturing creativity, in some extent circumstance, friends, elders but self-esteem and innovative urge is main.

creativity is triggered by the context in which he/she lives and grows. it is associated with people, places, views and norms. priority often goes to the creative person's views and beliefs.

related to the point on mentorship, but focusing on the fact that by talking about parents and teachers you seem to focus on children/ students: an interesting question would be if the teacher (including parent, etc) can essentially impact the learner (child) if the teacher is a) not creative himself, or b) following a standard process known to incite and develop creativity. otherwise there is a lack of reference.

Agreed Parents and Teachers but also: Friends can influence creativity i.e. you find out that a friend is into something and you become involved in it, maybe to fit in initially, but then eventually it becomes something you are passionate about.

I would say sports persons. You might watch a particular sports person and he / she has a unique way of doing a particular skill which is unique which may make you consider a new creative approach as apposed to the standard. Maybe in the same sport, maybe in another sport or activity you are involved in.

TV / Social Media / Local, Regional, National, World Wide information can inspire creativity and possibly nurture creativity. If you have a passion for something initially and want to learn more you can go on youtube / social media or see something on the TV in your area of interest that makes you want to embrace those skills or be creative. For example you may watch a programme where a group of people are being creative with motor vehicles improving or enhancing them. You may have the same passion but a different vehicle and taste but that particular programme could inspire you to be more creative in enhancing or improving your vehicle. It may also inspire you to understand the science behind the running or the vehicle and therefore you can be creative. For example, understanding how temperature affects engines and engine performance and come up with ways of reducing engine intake temps or heat soak.

The influence of the school in the development of creativity is indisputable. And not only for its stimulation and promotion but also because sometimes the other extreme is adopted ... it falls into its prohibition .... whoever does something different is getting out of the teacher's control and that usually has more repercussions serious than no stimulation.

Important aspects of environment inculcating creativity among individuals are home environment, school environment, peer groups and profession of the parent/s.If the children are provided with supervised freedom i.e. safe freedom at home or school premises then surely the creative strengths will be evolved out of the individuals.

I think, family's access to social resources and its openness of mind ; these two aspects are most important. In most of the cases creativity dies with lack of opportunity.

Interesting question Dr Sharma! But you do not mention at which stage in life you are interested in, or have in mind. So, I am going to cast my net wide and hope I give an answer that resonates with any age you may have in mind

Creativity can begin very early in life by the stimuli that an infant or an 18-month or 24-month old child is exposed to whilst on the mother's lap or by the playful activities with the father, and relatives or older siblings.

At kindergartens or play-schools ( 3-5 years), the teacher will have a role in the class. In primary and secondary schools, the teacher, the environment, and the friends can influence. At college and university, fellow students, lecturers and professors can directly or indirectly have a conscious or unconscious role in stimulating creativity

Later on in employment, one's colleagues and supervisors/managers can have a role. In the company I used to work for, we had this advice "... do not ask for permission, do it and then ask for forgiveness"; I encouraged those working with and for me to do exactly that -- take risks, and attempt things. In that way, we succeeded in creating many new "enabling technologies" at the high-tech company. In so doing I was also taking risks. Of course the company was exceptional and a pioneer -- it gave the world many new technologies, many of which most of you use today, without knowing its actual origins.

I also taught creativity and innovation thinking; I used the 5W's (why, what, where, when, who? questions) and 1 H (how? question) approach to get my students ( who were in already employment -- they were taking c the course as part of a Master's degree curriculum) -- to come up with ideas.

Let us not forget techniques like brainstorming and brainwriting can also help even those who are not creative. So, if one has grown up with little exposure to situations that fostered creativity, one can be trained to be creative. Almost all of the students taking the aforementioned course did exhibit levels of creativity that ranged from the minimalistic to the exceptional. [What I am trying to say is this -- we can all be creative.]

There is still hope if you as child did not find yourself in an environment or home that fostered or triggered creativity or creative thinking.
