Who knows the scientific name of this spider?
It makes its canvas on the grasses and it does not leak in rain or low temperatures (5 ° c).
location: region of Beni Mellal, Morocco.
Looks like the banded garden spider, Argiope trifasciata.
Please Check Argiope bruennichi (wasp spider) too.
In my opinion it's Argiope trifasciata (Forskal, 1775), which can be distinguished from A. bruennichi by having ring pattern in their femora instead of a smooth one.
It's always better to see the other side, but I agree with A. trifasciata.
Yes. Thanks for sharing the knowledge Drs. Ryan, Daniel and Vincent. I too agree with you.
Thank you for all
I have the pleasure to adda photo of the ventral face to check that it is A. trifasciata.
thank you
Dear Abderrazak,
I also agree with Argiope trifasciata.
Best,
Tharindu
The additional view confirms A. trifasciata :)
Thank you
Drs Vincent Lefebvre, Tharindu Ranasinghe, Karthigeyan Kaliyamurthy, Daniel Suarez, Ryan P. Hanavan
for your help.
You Can contact Professor S. Benhalima in Institut scientifique. [email protected]
Could it be a species from the Argiope genus?
You should read the entire post, the spider name has been given already ;)
