But acutally it depends on what you understand by "redistributed manufacturing". This is to my opinion a quite new term which may be understood in different ways. Concurring terms may be commons-based peer production or distributed manufacutring.

You can find some references about those terms in the work suggested by Benjamin or in the following publication of mine:

Do you want to focus on pure "manufacturing issues" or other sustainability related aspects that come up along with individualized and local production? There are a couple of articles that deal with "sustainable mass customization". (Many of them are indeed summarized by Cindy Kohtala in the already mentioned article above)
