Dear Pradeep Kumar Badapalli you can use multiple indices to validate the results. Relaying on single index may not be suitable. Moreover, the selection of indices should be relevant with your scope of work and objectives
NDVI is used by most of the workers, hiwever, both may be tested and validated depending on the location. Becoz it may behave differently for hill ecosystem and could give variable results for other ecosystem... This is my personal point of view.
For mapping degradation classification techniques will be most suitable.
I thing NDVI and TGSI is indirect method of land degradation monitoring. Please, use USLE, RUSLE, MUSLE, etc.
Dear Pradeep Kumar Badapalli , I think that, for monitoring land degradation, all techniques are appropriate. What differs is their contexts use; that is, knowing when to use one technique rather than other.
