I am researching the changing of teachers' perceptions of their abilities to learn and teach math during a semeste. A perceptions questionnaire was applied three times - before the start of the course, after two months of study, and at the end of the course. What is the appropriate statistical analysis to explore the changing of teachers' perceptions as a result of studying the course.
If the teachers have done a self assessment of their abilities to learn and teach mathematics, what is the most suitable statistical analysis?

There are 68 pre-service teacher who enrolled in the Basic concepts in mathematics at one semester for 4 monthes. the questionnaire consists of 17 items Directed for ability to learn math (4 items are negative ) and 19 for ability to teach math( 6 items are negative ). All are five -likert scale.

If your research using experimental design try to read and study more about Independent t-test and paired t-test.
If you are conducting more than 2 assessment time points, best practice is ANOVA or MANOVA repeated measures as mentioned above. These omnibus tests control for much more error than the paired t-tests (since you are assessing the same students over time the tests would be paired versus independent). SPSS can lead you through that process fairly easily but EXCEL cannot perform this type of statistical test. Whether you use an ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) or a MANOVA (Multi-variate analysis of variance) will depend upon how many variables you are interested in capturing at each time point. Hopefully the survey is validated. Does the survey have subscales within the "ability to learn" and "ability to teach" or do all 17 or 19 items combine or average to give you a score for that survey scale? You will need to aggregate (get the mean, etc.) the items in order to get an average score for these subscales (or any additional subscales).

First you have identify either your data is ordinal or nominal. The you have to understand when we have to use parametric statistic or non parametric statistic
Hi, I'm guessing there are multiple constructs (not a single factor score)? In which case I would opt for repeated-measures MANOVA, and include a quadratic term to allow for non-linear change patterns. best wishes,
