Hello!

I am having difficulties in finding out which statistical test to use in my paper.

So i have prepared 2 different news articles, with two different framings(one is PRO freedom of speech, the other is ANTI freedom of speach).

I then have a test group of 41 pupils, which is divided to 2 groups, Group A(20) reads the PRO article, and Group B(21) reads the ANTI article.

Afterwards they each get a questionaire with 9 questions regarding freedom of speech, each question has 5 answers:

Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, Strongly Disagree.

I have then performed some descriptive statistics to see if there is a difference in their answers, but i would like to do a statistical test, but cant really seem to find the right one.

I want to investigate whether there is a significant difference in the answers of the 2 groups.

My H0 hypothesis is:

There is no correlation in which framing you read, and the answers you gave to the questionare

Chi squared is no good, cause of the small sample size

And fischers exact test is only(i think) used in 2x2 crosstabs, but i have 2x5(nine times)

I could "add" the answers together, so i create 2 possible answers: Agree and Disagree, and then perform fischers exact, but im not so keen on fiddling so much with my data.

Any input is very much appreciated
