I am currently trying to extract and isolate Luteolin (a flavonoid) from Vernonia amygdalina (Bitter leaf).
Please, which solvent would yield the maximal output of Luteolin from the plant?
How effective is the Chromatographic method to achieving this? or is there a better method to achieve this goal?

In this study, theree flavones, namely luteolin, luteolin 7-O-beta-glucuronoside, and luteolin 7-O-beta-glucoside were isolated from Vernonia amygdalina. The compounds were extracted with 30% aqueous methanol. In addition, a detailed description of the chromatographic separation is provided. I hope you will find this useful.
