I want to do analysis of my data in which most characters are Quantitative whereas some of these are Qualitative. The problem is with qualitative analysis, which software is best and simplest for Qualitative analysis?
Hi, I think you can use Matlab or free option and used in the comunity Ipython. If you are already familiar with matlab will not be so different and works on Windows as well
If you don't have easy access to commercial software such as matlab, I strongly recommend R (http://www.r-project.org/) which is open source/free. R is relatively easy to learn and packages for almost all popular data analysis methods are available.
You can download and use the free QDA Miner Lite: http://provalisresearch.com/products/qualitative-data-analysis-software/freeware/
If you need to perform more in depth analysis, you can try QDA Miner full version: http://provalisresearch.com/products/qualitative-data-analysis-software/. You can download a 30 day free trial: http://provalisresearch.com/downloads/trial-versions/
QDA Miner is one of the best qualitative software around.
I think the fundamental problem is establishing some sort of distance function/scale for individual qualities that you want to include. Then there is how that works multi-dimensionally.
See what software can work on multi-dimensional "similarity" and has good guidance on how to explore clustering in that manner, perhaps hierarchically.
In some sense, you are always quantifying, and you need to be certain that the procedure is not over-sensitive to small changes and be confident that the sensitivity is tolerable.
My suspicion, without further information, is that you will need to experiment.
