Hi all. I am in requirement of buying a new SLM for optical trapping. I would like to get suggestion about pros and cons in particular (Hamamatsu vs Meadowlark) SLMs if any from the optical tweezers community from their experience. Please share ur suggestions.

I used Holoeye pluto nir which is a cost eficcient and broadband(400-1100 nm), low diffraction efficiency (60%), electrically adressed, 8 bit SLM. I was not sure if I would use a second laser in the project so I chose this SLM. However if you decide your wavelength, you can have diffraction eficciency way better than this model .
Since you want to do optical tweezers, refresh rates are also important. You can compare the refresh rates of the models to obtain smooth trapping. My SLM was a 50 Hz device so the movement in the sample plane was not too smooth.
When it comes Holoeye and Meadowlark: It iagain depends on your prefered choice. I Both are nice brands. Please compare the specs. Here are listed all the brands:

I guess it would specifically depend on varied applications in optical tweezers. Some crucial parameters to consider are the optical efficiency of the SLM, diffraction efficiency, phase stability of the device over required timescales, switching times for phase screens, maximum incident laser power and the desired wavelength range. Also in case one wants to sync the SLM with other external devices then a trigger switch would be desirable which may not be available in all SLM models.
