I want to discover purpose-built engineering systems for robotics education. What hands-on robotics are used by other leading universities?
In this field, I've begun a project called SCUTTLE, to support Mobile Robotics (MXET 300 Course in Texas A&M). I'm searching for similar resources used in robotics education at all levels (undergrad, grad, & resesarch).
In my undergrad, I used raspberry pi, jetson nano as on board computer (OBC). Besides I used arduino mega,uno,nano,pro-mini, esp32, 8266 etc microcontrollers. Sensors like humidity, gas, color, distance, lidar, rangefinder etc. Cameras like kinect, realsense, pi cam, multispectral cam etc.
David Malawey At our university, we have found that starting students with basic kits like LEGO Mindstorms gives them a solid foundation in core concepts. The graphical programming interface allows them to gain confidence in designing and troubleshooting algorithms. We then progressed to working with more advanced microcontroller platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and the Robot Operating System (ROS).
For mobile robots, we have had great success with differential drive robots that students can build themselves. Being able to design, wire, and program their own robot from scratch gives invaluable hands-on learning. We make use of sensors like lidar, camera modules, and IMUs to teach topics like mapping, localization, and navigation.
To prepare students for current industry needs, we also provide exposure to robot arms, autonomous ground vehicles, aerial drones, and underwater ROVs. Collaboration with professors in mechanical and electrical engineering allows our students to work on multidisciplinary projects and get experience with topics like dynamics and controls.

Arduino can be uno , nano, mega that can be programmed with C++. Other equipments include buck converter, L298 motor driver , rasberry pi ,motors etc and of course battery.
