Many plants produced various classes of compounds such as polyphenols (phenolic acids, flavonoids, anthocyanins, lignans and stilbenes), carotenoids (xanthophylls and carotenes) and vitamins (vitamin E and C) which have potent antioxidant activity.
Polyphenols and carotenoids are the two main kinds of antioxidant phytochemicals, and they contribute the most to the antioxidant properties of foods/plants. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6331972/
Polyphenols and carotenoids are molecules that have potent antioxidant activity because they sometimes act synergistically in the oxidation system, where polyphenols act as scavengers, while carotenoids act as chelators of free radicals.

mainly polyphenols (phenolic acids, flavonoids, anthocyanins, lignans and stilbenes), carotenoids (xanthophylls and carotenes) and vitamins (vitamin E and C)
Basically, antioxidant potential is more in polyphenols, and vitamins because they act as proton/electron donor which is required reduction of oxidant species.
antioxidant acitivity is generally extremely high in polyphenolic compounds e.g. condensed and hydrolysable tannins, flavonoids, lignans, anthocyanins etc. Of course the individual structure of the phenolic compound is highly important regarding antioxidant activity.
On the basis of my past research study and literature review I have suggested that the citrus fruits and phenolic compounds having rich in antioxidant activity
Very important topic! Amazing. Here in Brazil, biodiversity is gigantic and we have many antioxidant plants and fruits with other functions, such as soothing, laxative, healing and many other purposes, many of our isolated Indians already use. The pequi oil for example, a Brazilian savanna/cerrado fruit (Caryocar brasilense - Cambess., 1828.
polyphenols, phytoalexins, vitamins etc. the one i read about the most is resveratrol, which is a stillbene antioxidant found in grapes, peanuts, blueberries, etc.
