Hello All;
Recently, I got a comment from a reviewer, saying that recent works have not been cited in the manuscript. However, i had cited the most relevant and important older works in the introduction section of my manuscript. I looked for the recent literature but could't find any good one related to my work. As-per the comment of the reviewer; should I add the new unimportant literature in my manuscript as well or not?

It depends on the nature of your MS. Normally we should cite everything, both historical works and recent findings

I don't have enough experience like many other researchers who will provide good insights about it but I feel what you have said is right to me. I guess most will agree that we only consider most relevant historical works and recent findings only to cite in our paper. Thank you.
