"I need high sensitivity and wide dose rate range."
The simple answer is ion chamber. CsI will have a tendency to under respond at high dose rates. The under response will depend upon the type of signal conversion.
A linac pulses, so the detector must be able to respond to the pulse rate correctly.
A Linac. can produce photo neutrons. Do you need neutron detection?
Much more information is needed to. determine the best measurement method and practice: Linac duty cycle, location of measurements, purpose of measurements (dose to target or protection), ...
Firstly, thank you for responding Joseph L Alvarez varez .
Secondly. the linac energy is below 10 MeV, so neutron detection isn't needed.
Our goal is constructing a environment survey meter for measuring dose rate and the HSE requirements and protected and under control area determination.
The accuracy of dose rate measurement at high energy is very important. The integration dose is important and respond to pulses is not important. Actually integral of pulses is important.
Correct. It is not necessary to measure the pulses and the integrated dose from the pulses is necessary. It is important that the device responds correctly to the pulses so the dose can be integrated.
The pulse response is more important if a large range of dose rates are to be measured with the same device. A large volume will ensure response to a small dose rate, but might be too large to prevent recombination before collection. A higher voltage will increase the collection.
Considerations will be necessary of size for fixed or portable devices.
