Selen - Effective teaching involves all students in learning rather than simply accepting that some students cannot be engaged and are destined to do poorly. The best teaching method is the one that our students respond to. It is advisable to adjust the methods and strategies in response to a students' ability to learn. A number of methods or a combination methods can be used in teaching learning process to make it more attractive and productive, for example, direct teaching, small group teaching, demonstrating in practical classes, massive open online courses (MOOCs), flipped classroom, problem based learning, Inquiry-based instruction, use of technology in the classroom, visualization and so on. Usually, the teaching methods can be categorized into four broad types. These are teacher-centered methods, learner-centered methods, content-focused methods and interactive/participative methods.
Generally, the role of university today is not just to develop knowledge expertise but to develop employ-ability skills that can be transferred from the classroom to the boardroom. Hence, advantageous methods, besides the traditional ones like lecturing, could be: interactive and experiential learning, reflective learning, seminars, critical self-reflection, multidisciplinary approach with the collaboration of external experts, blended learning (MOC), although ICT teaching is not expected to substitute face-to-face teaching, trips and visits, links between formal and informal learning (e.g., practicums, mobility, community services, fieldwork, laboratory experiences, internship placements), and making connections between theory and practice.
