I want to make composites of Functionalized CNTs with Metal Oxides,
In literature, I found various methods for purification and functionalization of MWCNTs with various techniques including sonication, Reflux and centrifugation. Which one is more suitable for my research.

The techniques as stated i.e., sonication, reflux, or centrifugation have their own advantages in different preparation techniques. Choose the metal oxide that you want to functionalize in MWCNT and pick up the technique. From my side sonication i.e., for a certain time make the solution homogeneously distributed which may make the functionalization easier. Again please go through the literature for what metal oxide you want to functionalize.

Sonication is normally used for making homogenous CNT solution. Centrifugation is for selection of CNTs according to their gravity. The speed of centrifuge is a key to purify or select certain lengths of CNTs.
You may need to try one technique first to gain en experience. Then optimise your method according to your available facilities.

For CNTs functionalization, reflux system is effective. As X. Wang mentioned, sonication helps for nano homogenization, while centrifugation for purification.
Dear Murrawat Abbas thanks for posting this important technical question which is certainly of broad interest to many other RG members as well. As for the purification, to the best of my knowledge one of the most effective ways of purifying MWCNTs is heating with nitric acid in a closed vessel under microwave irradiation. For this you just need a thick-walled glass tube with a screw cap. The procedure is described in the Abstract of the following article:
