Depends on the scale. For analysis maybe iquid cromatography, the problem is pre treatment. For industrial applications I do not know.
For analysis by GC-MS. You need to clean very well the polyol using acetone to remove the unreacted compounds and filtrate using nylon filters or similar
It might be possible, depending on where you are in the process, to use switchable polarity ionic solvents that are tuned to diffuse across a forward osmosis membrane or a selective carbon nano tube membrane.

I did intend to do some GC-MS analisys but I was afraid to destroy the column. Do you have any article explaining this procedure? Have you worked with something similar?
Yes, I have some experience about liquefied products. For the GC-MS analysis I used the HP5MS column. Check the papers of Briones et al about the microwave liquefaction of biomass.
