I was wondering which is the best solution to regenerate the glycerol in excess resulting from the enzymatic esterification between FFA and glycerol.
Perhaps a distillation?
Do you have tips or papers where I could find a method ?

Dear Riccardo, thank you for posting this interesting technical question. As an inorganic chemist I'm certainly not a proven expert in this field. In principle, careful distillation would be a suitable method to recover your glycerol. However, since you want to make food grade glycerol, I assume that it's not worth the effort. Glycerol is a technical product which is available in surplus quantities. That's really an important feedback.
Since we are using high quantity of glycerol that is removed at the end of our reaction, I was wondering if there was a way to reuse it and cut some production costs.
