I graduated four years ago from University of Khartoum, College of Science, Zoology Department with Second upper of Applied Entomology. I didn't Start My MSc studies yet, convincing myself that I want to do something special, but I just keep busy with work and gaining new skills and knowledge, and lately I've started doubting my choices.
Ayman, I think it depends on what you see yourself doing in the future. If your dream position requires a graduate degree to qualify or be considered for the position then such a degree is warranted. Some positions will take work experience or graduate studies to qualify. In which case, you should tailor your work experience to achieve the skills and knowledge on the job that are required of the positions you would like to fill. I recommend doing a search of the types of jobs you would like to have and see what potential employers are seeking in their staff.
There are 2 things which are essential to be a scientist - 1) postgraduate qualification 2) research aptitude with adequate experience . This is to work in university , where research a can be done & also to teach students . Therefore , the faculty requires postgraduates to occupy the post of professor to do & guide research . It is essential that you complete your MSc & Doctorate and pursue research . Research is a life long association & you will have all the time to concentrate on research , after you get the required post . This is my personal view & I hope I have answered your question .
