I am working on column chromatography using a plasma sample containing lipids and protein. I want lipids to be absorbed in the column while I wash out proteins. Any one has idea what is suitable adsorbent (column material) I can use.
You might want to check out Waters Oasis HLB for SPE. It is an all purpose, strongly hydrophilic, water-wettable polymer with a unique hydrophilic-lipophilicbalance. Oasis HLB maintains high retention and capacity even if it runs dry after conditioning. This reversed-phase sorbent is ideal for acidic, basic and neutral analytes. It has been described for e.g., Oxylipid extraction from plasma samples.

I agree with Daniela, I would go for SPE prior your analysis. I have worked a lot with Oasis from Waters and lately with Strata, from Phenomenex.

Yes,Initially I tried SPE with C18.Proteins are binding strongly and I have to wash column repeatedly to get ride of proteins. May be i will try Oasis to see if it works. What about compatibility of Oasis at higher pH ? and also concerned about stability of fatty acids especially PUFA
