Due to limited availability of fish meal , now a day many plant based conventional and conventional ingredient is being used across the globe in fish feed formulation . I am requesting you to share the most common ingredient used in your area or country to feed the fish.
Dear Tariq Yasein Sir, i am asking about the ingredient not about feed.
Many local and unconventional fish feed ingredients were tested in Iraq but none of it give good results as fish meal replacer. However, some researchers are focusing now on slaughterhouse wastes by applying some biotechnology to improve its nutritional value for fish. Moringa is one of the suggested plant alternative but it didn't studied in Iraq yet.

Dear SM Najim sir, i am particularly bothered about plant based ingredients. Can you please highlight the plant based ingredient which is being used in your country to feed the fish.
In Brazil, the most commonly fishmeal-replacer is viscera meal. It as a good digestibility and bioavailabiity for fishes. Fishes needs high levels of animal-protein sources, so, if you don't have fishmeal, other animal by-products must be used. A second feed for replacing fishmeal could be meat-and-bone meal.
Solvent extracted oil cakes in particular soybean meal was widely used.
In addition groundnut cake, sesame cake, cottonseed meal, rapeseed meal, sunflower oil cake and very rarely guar meal.
Certain marine protein sources like Acetes (mantis shrimp), squid waste meal were also used.
Protein rich plant derivatives like soy protein isolate, soy protein concentrate, gluten from maize, rice, wheat also considered.
But usage of these ingredients varies based on the feed formulated to the cultured species, availability and mainly price.
