Any body please suggest a good material with identification keys for the marine benthic amphipods of Indian waters. Please do share the material if available. Thank you
You might already know this, but I would recommend the following monograph.
J. Laurens Barnard and Gordan S. Karaman. 1991. The families and genera of marine gammaridean Amphipoda (except marine gammaroids).Records of the Australian Museum, Supplement 13, Parts 1 & 2, 866 pp., 133 figs., 7 maps.
This is the biggest monograph containing the identification key of marine benthic amphipods in the world, of course including Indian waters.
Although this is not a literature specialized for the Indian Ocean, it can be useful for identifying benthic amphipods anywhere in the world. So, I would recommend you check this monograph at first.
As Masafumi Kodama said, the work from Barnard & Karaman is a great source for identifying amphipods. I'd like to recommend some more references.
Although they are not specific to the Indian Ocean, and contain some outdated classification, the following keys can be also very useful for amphipods identification:
Chapman, J.W. (2007) Amphipoda. In: Light and Smith Manual: Intertidal Invertebrates from Central California to Oregon. *Sending it attached
LeCroy, S.E. (2000; 2002; 2004; 2007; 2011). An illustrated identification guide to the nearshore marine and estuarine gammaridean Amphipoda of Florida.
Each one of them dealing with certain families. You can find all these works from LeCroy for download here on ResearchGate.
