I need to understand sediment connectivity between upstream of river basin and downstream of it, but I cannot get a clear literature which sets the hydrologic model for that.
Dr. David Rosgen has a book addressing watershed sediment and some of the processes he has found in his studies, data collection and river restoration experiences. A briefing of some of his approach was included and published in the NRCS Engineering Handbook, Part 650. He has various internet references available on his website at www.wildlandhydrology.com, most are free, a few are for purchase. Rosgen materials would increase awareness of the difference in stream types and banks on their ability to erode and transport sediments, or in some instances aggradation reduces sediment through storage. Rosgen‘s BANCS model is useful if you want to include stream bank erosion, and collect site specific data, or at least sampling with perhaps LiDAR coverage which can help estimate stream types.
