I have four variables: A is the dependent variable, and the other three are independent. I calculated the correlation coefficients between B&A, C&A, and D&A and discovered that they were 0.6, 0.4, and 0.7 respectively. Does this mean A is most sensitive to D? Is it possible to calculate sensitivity from the correlation coefficient? Thanks.
If you want to find out which variable is the best predictor of A, then it would be best to run a multiple regression analysis with A as dependent variable and B, C, and D as predictor (independent) variables. This would tell you more than the zero order correlations alone because multiple regression also accounts for the potential redundancy (correlations) among the predictor variables.
The correlation coefficient tells you which of the independent variables are statistically correlated to your dependent variable. Generally, look for values greater than 0.5 and closer to 1. Use this as a guide to which variables merit further research.

It depends on the sensitivity definition you intend to determine. If the sensitivity is related to devices input and output parameters, the correlation coefficient will go a long way to establish the linearity, hence sensitivity can be deduced.
