The area of the graphene flake is responsible for the properties of the whole thing, e.g. whether you have a size-dependent bandgap or actual Dirac cones. If anyone should tell you what you need you have to know first what kind of material you want to make - and in this respect the flake size in the bulk material is the upper threshold for the final material, there is nothing additional to understand about what I said.
