I am adding this to my report and passing to our national GEOFORUM.

We have ALS coverage for c.a. 92 % of territory of Poland (312 000 km sq) from the first

ALS mission carried out within ISOK Project. There are two standards of LIDAR data :

1. Standard I : density 4 points/1m sq

2. Standard II : density 12 points/1m sq.

Remaining 8 % of territory is supposed to be collected this year and next coverage is expected for the biggest 100 cities.

Another direction of ongoing activities is - construction of LoD 2 for the entire country, c.a. 25 million 3D buildings in forthcoming 3 years.

I argue, that new collection shall be realized for all metropolitan areas.

We have strange situation in Poland, where LIDAR data, in *.LAS files are accessible frr of charge to all public administration units and are available to commercial entities on a commercial basis, which I find - unconstitutional.

I believe that small incomes coming from LIDAR data sales and a lot of troubles - commecrial entities face, trying to access quickly do LIDAR datasets - just don't match.

There is no logical, no economical sense to sale data to commercial users and to deliver them free of charge for public administration.

I hope that this will change soon and we are working on it right now.

First Polish LIDAR dataset is at the range of 1 280 000 000 000 points, so its more than twice the size of AHN2.

Bigger cities are already emracing these datasets, train their officers, especially in architecture, urban planning, spatial planning departments....

What is the density of AHN3 ?

The National Land Survey of Finland offers free access to LiDAR data:

The aim is to cover the entire country in the next few years.

The National Geographic Institute from Spain, provides cloud points wich covers whole territory, with a density of 0.5 points / 1 m sq. The next flights have 1 - 2 points / 1 m sq.

Regarding free LIDAR data these are also available for Denmark, in high resolution (4 - 5 points per m2. Format is LAZ. IT is a huge data set available in 10 km blocks.
