Hello,

I am conducting a study that aims at modeling the relation between land agricultural productivity and environmental/topographic variables in a territory in the central-southern sector of Mediterranean.

The study uses Multiple Logistic Regression within a GIS environment to model the relation between  a dependent categorical variable (optimal/non-optimal) and different independent variables, among which distance from coast, slope, aspect, elevation, distance from stream-lines, etc.

The dependent variable is devised on the basis of empirical data, stemming from old land parcels that have been given colors according to a scale of nominal values.

So far so good. The model is actually pointing to interesting patterns.

What I am after is to improve my knowledge of literature dealing with the relation between environmental factors and land productivity. For example, I have come across various publications pointing to the influence of factors like slope, elevation, aspect, terrain curvature on soils' moisture.

I would like to know which other factors other than soil moisture could be influenced by environmental variables and can, in turn, affect land agricultural productivity.

Thanks for any insight/suggestion.

Best
