All the books of Sherlock Holmes including short stories and novels.You can read them in any order provided you first know the 2 main characters(Dr. Watson, who writes them in first person and Sherlock Holmes , the world's greatest sleuth.)

You are correct: there are many books and journal articles related to avoiding plagiarism in academic writing. What I recommend most to my students is the APA Manual (published by the American Psychological Association), Very thorough reference.

There is also a website made available by Purdue University called Purdue OWL (Online Writing Lab). On the site, you can search any specific topic related to writing, plagiarism, paraphrasing, citations, etc.  It is very user-friendly.
