Public universities are much better than private universities in Iraq in terms of academics and quality of teaching. Besides; education is free of charge to all students. They grant scholarships to their students to pursue their postgraduate studies abroad. Private universities do not offer these facilities to their students.

In the USA, the best private university is Harvard for all fields other than engineering. MIT and Stanford are the best for engineering. Private universities are generally better.

Most of the meritorious students are in the public universities. Students mainly in English Medium background are in the private universities. I think , though there is abundance , govt university teachers are less interested in research than politics.

In India, several Private Universities are well- known for their success.. For instance, In Punjab, lovely Professional University- private university but ranked very good nowadays Nd even students of this university have been selected by a number of reputed companies.
