Somebody may consider teaching as only a profession like all other professions. Others may think that it is just a service like all other services which give salary at every month. Some others may think that it is the easiest way to earn income tax free money through private coaching etc.
What do you feel?
Teaching with honesty and devotion as a Profession make a non-wealthy person "A Real King". A King of his own "Kingdom", the "Kingdom of knowledge and wisdom" can think and teach to any depth, and can do anything that he want, can rule over the population, can bring revolution easily. He can build nations peaceful and organised.
It is a matter of Soul. Hence it is a Noble Profession.
Salary or Money is not a problem for such Teacher. Such nature creates Modesty and Honor. Tax-Free money paid to a Teacher is called Honorarium, not Pay or Salary. It is an Honored money reserved for Honorable man.
However, a Business minded Teacher, could not pay devotion as he always calculate Time with Money.
People who feel themselves un-able to devote and sacrifice should not opt Teaching as their Profession.
Is a humane and moral work and a duty to all his ability and qualifications teaching is to carry out

Professions like teaching are usually respected, trusted and are expected to be role models.
Others add that to enter a profession ----"usually requires education, training, qualifications, commitment, dedication and even passion".

In my knowledge, Teaching is the best job you can do. Teaching today is to prepare the professionals for tomorrow. Though, the teaching profession has good salary too but the satisfaction achieved is incredible in comparison to other jobs. (It is just my opinion).
I regard teaching as my vocation. I knew I wanted to teach at some level since I was seven years old. Once I became an undergraduate and met professors in philosophy and religion, I knew I wanted to become a philosophy and religion professor. I can't imagine doing anything else.

To me I think it is a holly service for community, because the teacher is considered in the rank of prophets.
Agreed with Asaad Al-Taee teachers are producers of different segments of society. Teachers are not part of society they are above the society.
In case of job, you are working for the government or other company But teaching is a great profession where you are working for the backbone of a nation. Its an most respectful profession than others in my opinion. Everyone has to go to teacher for learning, even a teacher had a teacher.

teaching is a philospohy and humanity itself. All creatures learn from others. May be it is itself life.
Teaching is our life so to say a kind grace from our mother as with our arrival on this earth & afterwards it see who has taken a keen interest in our childhood for basic understand of our movement ,our expression , our joy , & with the passage of childhood she has help us to sent in KG for our primary school .
It is this stage we are following the footsteps of our life & our learning becomes our career but that learning does not end merely for our study program but this becomes a joining part for our life regarding our interest & inclination towards reading , writing , music , drama, painting ,sports & such activities of our life as a part of our learning .

It depends on the connection of a man to the society. Teaching is a means of earning for some people, but it may be passion for some others.
Teaching is a noble profession, but unfortunately for many teachers it has become a business to earn money.
Teaching is simply a profession. If someone perform his/her duty in a perfect manner, s/he giving service to a society. If someone exploits, s/he doing business.

In addition to the above-mentioned, teaching is also a kind of addiction. Some people cannot live without it, cannot pass a day without even a little bit of teaching; in fact, they love to enjoy its effects, feedback from students, disciples.
Teaching is a profession. One has to go through rigorous education and license requirements (in case of teaching in public schools). Teachers are held to ethical standards. Calling teaching a business or service is degrading to the teacher. Teachers care deeply for their students, what they do and how much influence they can have on young minds.
Teaching is a service for the humankind. The job called teacher doesn't make you one if you are not willing to train your students. In every one of us is a teacher who should take care of the future generations. The ultimate step of learning is teaching others.

This is one of those overarching questions one needs to ask him/herself when trying to do a good job with students. As far as I am concerned, I am a scientist who decided that teaching was of fundamental importance for his research. I could have avoided teaching, but I do it because it is so important! I deem that a scientist who has no link with the new generations is loosing an essential dimension. I have taught many students in my life and think that their success is the best achievement in my career, even though I did contribute substantial science on my own. So, in summary, for me it's an investment in the future of our planet and a very rewarding activity. Students, most of the time, pay you back with their enthusiasm and freshness of intent. Maybe I am a bit idealistic, but this is the way I feel.
